Caro Verbeek
Caro Verbeek is an art historian specialized in art and the senses. She is specially interested in the scent and touch in relation to culture, and she is an expert in smell and haptic art.
She graduated at the University of Amsterdam on the topics of scent and touch in relation to art, constructing a more sensual history of art of the 20th and 21st Century.
She lectures, researches, writes and organizes symposia on the subject.
Verbeek has worked for the Stedelijk Museum for several years, where she
co-curated and moderates the Smell It! @ The Temporary Stedelijk evening. She now works for the Dutch Rijksmuseum.
