Connecting much of Joseph Popper's work to date is a reach for the imaginary beyond the pragmatic. The limits of the possible and the scope for human aspiration are recurring themes surrounding his practice. "Man in Space" has continued to be a focal subject, and also forms the basis for his most recent project: The One Way Ticket (2012) – which explores the exceptional scenario of a voyage with no return. Filmmaking and photography are currently his primary modes of making his ideas tangible.
Joseph Popper graduated in Fine Art from the Chelsea College of Art in 2008, and from Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art in 2012.
