Xiaowen Zhu / 朱晓闻
Xiaowen Zhu (CN) is a video artist.
Zhu Xiaowen is a video artist from Shanghai, China and has been
studying and working in Germany and USA in recent years. She is a
visual poet, social critic and aesthetic researcher. Her primary media
are documentary film, experimental video and video installation. It is
part of her research process to experiment with different means of
visual communication in order to create an open, dynamic, global and
yet intimate conversation.
Zhu Xiaowen received her BA in Film, TV Production and Media
Arts from Tongji University, China in 2008. Currently she is an MFA
candidate major in Art Video in Syracuse University, USA. During her
undergraduate study, she attended an exchange program in Academy of Art
and Design Offenbach in Germany.
Her works have been showed in Strozzina Art Space (Florence,Italy),
Sainsbury Center for Visual Arts (Norwich, UK), Museum of Contemporary
Photography (Chicago, USA), Everson Museum of Art (Syracuse, USA),
Shanghai eArts Festival(Shanghai, China), Toronto Urban Film Festival
(Toronto, Canada), DOK Munich (Munich, Germany), Van Abbemuseum
(Eindhoven, Netherland), Stuttgart Filmwinter (Stuttgart, Germany) and
etc.
Xiaowen is working on the Wearable Urban Routine, during the Summer Sessions 2011.
