Objectworx is a solo for a dancer in a video installation of Bart Visser. In Objectworx the body appears as a moving and spatial object. To be able to explore this 'being and object' in the space of a dancer, an installation was developed that shows her from four different points of view. To do this, her sequences of movement were registered on the four corners of a square. These four synchronically registered sequences were simultaneously projected onto four spinning screens. The dancer is placed in this continually changing space, in dialogue with her registered portrait, causing shifting, doubling and interpolations in time and space. The audience is invited to take in a position towards the dancing bodies.
It as co-developed by V2_Lab in 2001.
