Red Flag Flies by Zhou Hongxiang, China Red Flag Flies shows a story with no narrative, no leading roles and is constructed on the border of video art and movies. Without telling a story from beginning to end, Red Flag Flies unfolds itself through individual images that together show a narrative of a different kind. Red Flag Flies shows characteristics of China, uses metaphors, parodies and juxtapositions, fragments and collage of political and historical symbols, to show China and an (culturally) evolving China. This work has received several international prices.
