The book presentation was part of a program where five artists were invited to engage with interaction in art. In 1991, V2_ received a subsidy from the Cultural Ministry, and subsequently published the Book for the Unstable Media. A number of theorists and thinkers from the Netherlands and abroad were invited to contribute within their fields of expertise. The main focus of this publication was the influence and meaning of technology over society and the arts. Authors who contributed included Paul Verilio (F), Peter Weibel (A), Florian Rötzer (D), Jeffrey Shaw (AUS/NL), Kristine Stiles (USA), Achim Wollscheid (D), Greogory Whitehead (USA), Diller & Scofidio (USA), Georges Teyssot and V2_. This book also features a number of photographies highlighting V2_'s activities during 1986-1992. This edition consists of 1.000 copies, and has generated enormous response. It therefore achieved what V2_ set out to accomplish: to stimulated an (international) discussion about contemporary currents in technology and art.
