DEAF03 The Evenings Of ...
Sadie Plant (GB), Siegfried Zielinski (D) and Lev Manovich (RU/US), presented in ARENA, DEAF03's presentation and event space by Atelier van Lieshout (AVL).
Three guest curators -- all individuals who established a reputation with their outstanding publications -- have been invited to compile a full evening's program without any restrictions. "The Evening of
" will showcase these curators' personal outlook on DEAF03's theme. They will present themselves and introduce the guests they have invited -- artists and scientists -- who will then take over the program and illustrate the guest curator's view. This may be in any way or format they choose, varying from lectures to film or video screenings, from concerts to theater and performance. "The Evening of
" will offer more insight into the issues that inform thinking about the information and knowledge based society and the role of the media in it.

Drie gastcuratoren -- personen met een grote staat van dienst en bijzondere publicaties op hun naam -- wordt de mogelijkheid geboden een avondvullend programma samen te stellen waarin alles mogelijk is. "De Avonden van " tonen de persoonlijke visie van deze curatoren op de thematiek van DEAF03 en worden door henzelf ingeleid, waarna de door hen uitgenodigde gasten -- kunstenaars en wetenschappers -- de avond zullen invullen en vorm geven aan de visie van de gastcurator. De presentaties kunnen iedere vorm aannemen en variëren van lezingen tot film-en videovertoningen, van concerten tot theater en performances. "De Avonden van " geven een breed inzicht in de onderwerpen die spelen in het denken over de informatie- en kennissamenleving en de rol van media hierin.
