A program which featured new media art from St. Petersburg. During one weekend V2_Organisation presented performances, a symposium, an exhibition and a special workshop for Dutch and Russian artists.

The program centered around members and projects of Gallery 21, the only place in St.Petersburg dedicated entirely to media art. "Digital Bridges" organizer Andreas Broeckmann: They are on the 1st floor of an enormous squatting house in the center of the city, the famous Pushkinskaya Desjat (Pushkin Street 10), where there are several galleries, some artists groups and over a hunderd workshop in use. With "Digital Bridges" we want to show the developments with regards to Media Art in St. Petersburg to a Rotterdam audience in a larger event. It is a unique chance to get to know this scene that is one of the most active in Europe. (from an interview by Richard Stuivenberg)

"Digital Bridges" was presented in the context of the Peter the Great Manifestation 1997, organized by Rotterdam Festivals.
