Increasingly, educational institutions are entering into alliances with companies and institutes from different sectors. An important motivation is mutual exchange of knowlegde and practices. 'Open Alliances' is a meeting about cooperation and transfer of knowledge between universities, colleges, companies and knowledge institutes in art and media technology. Central issue will be how intermediate knowledge institutes can contribute to an open transfer of knowledge.

Open Alliances discusses existing and future models for cooperation and knowlegde exchange. First, a selection of Dutch initiatives will be presented in which education , business and knowledge institutes work together. Forms of cooperation, different demands of partners and the influence on education and research will be discussed.
