Test_Lab: The Graduation Edition 2014

V2_ presents the 2014 graduation edition of Test_Lab – a special evening showcasing a selection of installations, demonstrations, performances, prototypes and experiments by a new generation of artists and designers graduating this year from European art academies.

Jul 2014
20:00 to 23:00
location: V2_ Institute for the Unstable Media Eendrachtsstraat 10, 3012 XL, Rotterdam

Young people are the innovators and change agents of society, revealing the future to us by creating it. Therefore, at the end of every academic year, Test_Lab takes a close look at a selection of outstanding art and design work created by young artists and designers graduating in emerging arts across Europe. Discover which topics are being addressed by this year’s new generation of artists and designers, and find out what their motives, positions, methodologies and media of choice are.

This year’s graduation edition of Test_Lab promises to be another remarkable and though-provoking edition, as the selected graduation projects include a new history for Scotland, Google gifts, a speculative zoo, Street View privacy, Wi-Fi kitchen utensils, data tasting, and an audio performance based on the nature of electricity. As usual at Test_Lab events, the audience will be invited to examine these graduation project 'hands-on'.

Featuring: Mohammed Ali (Royal College of Art, London) | Roel Roscam Abbing (Piet Zwart institute, Rotterdam) | Jairo Gutiérrez (Academy of Media Arts, Cologne) | Kathryn Fleming (Royal College of Art, London) | Veronika Krenn (University of Art and Design, Linz) | Lasse van den Bosch Christensen (Piet Zwart institute, Rotterdam) | Peter Edwards (The Royal Conservatory / STEIM, The Hague).
