Thing Power: Debate
In an effort to get a better grip on the notion of 'thing power,' this debate will call attention to the work of several artists and designers with the aim of discerning the power of things in action. During DEAF2012.

How do artists and designers explore, reveal, and deploy 'thing
power' through their work? How do they use interactions between things
to creatively catalyze innovative design solutions and novel artistic
experiences? And can a better appreciation of 'thing power' lead to
possible scenarios for a more sustainable future? This debate will focus
on the respective experimental strategies the artist and designers on
the panel have taken to generate and cultivate sensations of responsive 'thingness' in their work.
