V2_Organisation and V2_Lab are participating in the cultural exchange program NRW.NL '99 with a series of projects which showcase some of the outstanding work of media artists from Nordrhein-Westfalen. The program aims to foster strong and lasting relationships between artists, art schools, students, and the general public.

Emphasis is placed on the co-operation with the Kunsthochschule für Medien, Köln, whose students, fellows and faculty are invited to participate in these programs which also involve different Dutch art schools and media departments. An artist in residence project (David and Ulrike Gabriel), two workshops with public presentations and lectures, as well as an exhibition involve different audiences in the experience and discussion of completed artworks and of 'works in progress'.

The projects bring together interdisciplinary groups of German and Dutch artists, theorists, scientists and practitioners from fields like urban and business development, public media, multi-cultural activities, technology development. They seek to elucidate cultural and artistic tools and strategies for visibility, presence and acting in urban environments. Special attention is given to the way in which network technologies introduce new social and aesthetic paradigms into the fields of work, the economy, and the public domain.
