TK 730 at TEI 2012
TK 730 from the E-Textile workspace is part of the sixth international conference TEI, which focuses on the latest results in tangible, embedded, and embodied interaction. TEI 2012 takes place from 19th to 22nd February at Queen's Human Media Lab in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
TK 730 is a knitting machine developed by Anja Hertenberger, Leonie Urff, Ricardo O'Nascimento and Meg Grant. Conceived at the 2011 V2_ Summer Sessions it was first shown during the Test_Lab: Summer Sessions in Rotterdam and exhibited at ISEA (2011) in Istanbul. The presentation by E-Textile workspace of the TK 730 in Groningen during the Maker Fare 050 was covered in the Dutch national newspaper NRC. Now they are invited to show TK 730 in Canada as part of the TEI art exploration conference 2012. TEI 2012 is the sixth international conference dedicated to presenting the latest results in tangible, embedded, and embodied interaction. It is being held from the 19th to 22nd February 2012 at Queen's Human Media Lab in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Considering the winter conditions in Canada it’s not a big surprise the curators decided to exhibit the typing-knitting machine.
