Jeisson Drenth

With his work, media artist and consultant Jeisson Drenth explores the possibilities and limitations of technologies for people to shape their past, present and future.

After six years of working internationally as a VJ with cultural organizations, nightclubs and festivals, Jeisson set up his art practice. His solo projects present his research into the ethics of commercial DIY DNA testing companies and genetic selection, specifically from a perspective of queerness and that of an adopted person with a history of migration. In 2020 he started working as a consultant advising cultural organizations on matters of diversity, inclusion and access. In line with this, he articulated a new goal for his art practice: to study image production techniques from an intersectional point of view.
