José Luis de Vicente (ES) is a researcher, curator and writer.
José Luis de Vicente is a journalist and curator specialized
in digital culture, art and technology. In his own words, he works around the edges of New Media Arts, Digital Creativity, and Innovation in Design and Culture.
Since 1999 he is part
of ArtFutura organization committee. He has also carried out curation
projects for organizations and festivals such as RESFEST, FAD, La Caixa,
Sónar, OFFF among others, speaks in conferences and festivals, and does research in schools and cultural labs. He is co-founder of ZZZINC, an Office for Research and Innovation in Culture based in Barcelona. Creator and member of Elástico, a platform of content generation about emerging
cultures, producing the project COPYFIGHT with them. He lectures
in theory and history of the internet and interactive media in
the Escuela de Diseño Elisava of Barcelona.
A recent project is the international
exhibition: Playtime: Videogame Mythologies, a show addresses the symbolic and iconic potential of gaming,
one of the essential cultural forms of our time, through innovative new
media projects, art pieces, emerging technologies and historial
artifacts.
Recent fields of interest include Data Visualization, Green Design, Information Infrastructures, Media Architecture and Networked Cities, Software Aesthetics, Game Strategies, Archaeology and Histories of Digital Culture.
