Mushon Zer-Aviv

Mushon Zer-Aviv (IL) is a designer, an educator and a media activist.

Mushon Zer-Aviv designs, teaches and creates within new media. He is interested in challenging the perception of territory and borders and the way they are shaped through politics, culture, globalization and the world wide web.

Mushon is active in the Israeli & international new media scenes, as a contributor to some online magazines (Pixelsurgeon.com, Maarav.org.il, Exego.net) and through organizing off-line events (BD4D Tel-Aviv, Upgrade! Tel-Aviv, Upgrade! International).

He has presented at various festivals (Ars Electronica, Offf, Upgrade! International, Conflux…) and won prizes and grants (Prix Ars Honorary Mention, Swiss MediaProjects new-media Grant…).

In 2002, Mushon opened Shual (Shual.com) design studio with Guy Saggee. In 2006 he started ShiftSpace (an open source layer above any website) with Dan Phiffer.

Mushon currently live with his wife and cat in New York.
