During his 3x3 series at V2_, Richard Bolhuis will experiment with immersing a space in ever-changing audiovisual installations over the course of three days.
Richard Bolhuis will improvise using analogue tape machines and film loops. The spacious installation pulls the visitor in, making it worthwhile to linger and return for multiple visits. Performances by Bolhuis and guest cello player Sylvia Cempini will transform the audiovisual environment.
Experimentation is an essential part of every art practice. Even more than the final result, experiments, beta versions and tryouts provide an inside look at how an artist thinks and works. V2_’s 3x3 series spotlights artistic experimentation. We are offering three artists the space, time and resources to develop three experiments, which the public can witness live on the first Friday evenings of March, April and May. Since no one knows where an experiment will lead, a unique experience is guaranteed.
Richard Bolhuis's installations are interdisciplinary, immersive and constantly in motion. They often arise in multiple physical locations. Mystery and intuition are the primary elements in his practice.
