3x3: The Three of Iodine Dynamics I

Collective Iodine Dynamics will create three new experiments in our 3x3 series. This is their first 3x3 installment.

Oct 2017
16:00 to 19:00

What Remains is a new darkly humorous 8-bit homebrew adventure video game for the 1985 Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

It is 1986. You just came home from a skate session when a Nintendogame cartridge falls into your hands. Excited to find out what kind of game is on the cartridge, you visit your friend who just bought a brand new Nintendo console two weeks ago. You plug in the cartridge and a strange list of encrypted files appears…

The game is currently under development and will be released for free in early 2018. By free we mean a free of charge NES ROM download and we will publish the source code and assets under free culture licenses. A limited edition of physical cartridges for the NES and the Famicom, using recycled hardware, will be also produced.

Iodyne Dynamics, in collaboration with V2_ in Rotterdam, will host
the first playtest, and we are looking for players to come and give
us feedback on the current prototype!

Come save the planet and join us the evening of the 6th of October!
Each test session lasts 20 minutes, send an email to rsvp@v2.nl to
book a slot!

Iodine Dynamics is Marloes de Valk, Aymeric Mansoux, Arnaud Guillon, Dustin Long en Chun Lee.

Experiments are an essential part of every art practice. Even more than the end results, experiments, bèta versions and try-outs offer an inside look on how an artist thinks and works. Therefore, the experiment is made central in 3x3. V2_ offers three artists the space, time and resources to develop three experiments. Every first Friday evening of the month the public can witness one of these experiments live. A unique experience, since no one knows what experiments will lead to…

Every Friday the Kunstblock art venues in the Witte de Withkwartier are open in the evening. Visit MAMA, TENT, UBIK, V2_Lab for the Unstable Media, Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art and CBK Rotterdam’s collection of art in public space. Click here for the programme.
