Ilpo Väisänen founded the legendary experimental music duo Panasonic / Pan Sonic in the early ‘90 alongside the late Mika Vainio. Pan Sonic performed in Southbank/Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Barbican, Centre Pompidou, Fondation Cartier, Volksbühne and collaborated with Merzbow, Charlemagne Palestine, Sunn O))) among others. Ilpo Väisänen returned to solo albums on Editions Mego and Raster-Noton’s sublabel Kangaroo. Ilpo Väisänen is one indivisible, inseparable half of Panasonic / Pan Sonic, a crucial and visionary duo in electronic music for over two decades, from the beginning of the 90s until a few years back, which definitively ceased activities after the irreparable disappearance of its other half, the brilliant musician Mika Vainio.

Heleen Blanken is a visual artist and lives and works in Amsterdam. She is working across the media cinematography, photography and installation art. Her artistic practice is deeply influenced by the complexity of the separation between humanity and the natural environment. Heleen Blanken has worked with Jeff Mills, Ben Klock, 2562 and Rødhåd.

Zeno van den Broek is a Dutch-born, Copenhagen-based composer and artist. Van den Broek works in a multi-sensory way to research and express physical, social and acoustic notions. He utilises audiovisual means to create site and concept specific works. For Klankvorm he will adapt his audiovisual piece ‘Breach’ to the kinetic video installation SVNSCRNS

SVNSCRNS is a kinetic light and sound installation developed by Klankvorm. The piece consists of seven rotating video screens and speakers. For the exhibition at V2_ members of the Macular collective made a generative composition which is based on repetitive line structures and sound visualisation.

Macular is an initiative of a group of artists who share a collective interest in art, science, technology, and perception.

Klankvorm is a Rotterdam-based platform for the realisation and presentation of experimental audiovisual art. Klankvorm events take place in different locations and feature audiovisual performances and related presentations. Klankvorm aims to initiate, commission and present new works together with sound artists and visual artists who collaboratively explore the audiovisual domain.

This project is supported by Creative Industries Fund, Mondriaan Fund, City of Rotterdam, Stichting Bevordering Volkskracht.
