A performance by Sensorband.
The SoundNET uses an instrument developed by the Sensorband, called "the NET" -- a net with a surface of 122 square meters, made from climbing rope and a large number of sensors. The Sensorband members climb this net and create diverse sounds with it. The "NET" uses neural network software -- modeling the human brain -- where certain behavioral patterns are taught to the system.
The Sensorband (Atau Tanaka, Edwin van der Heide, Zbigniew Karkowski) did two subsequent performances with their SoundNET at V2_: once at Wiretap 2.03 (March 1996) and once at the Nodes & Notes music program of DEAF96 (November 1996).
