Heidi Hörsturz presents her new work "Sonic Movement".
Sonic Movement is an audiovisual performance in which electroacoustic kinetic compositions are visualised with 3D animations.
In this work Heidi Hörsturz explores new practices of spatial listening and investigates how sound can change the performative qualities of a space.
Through the use of 12 moving loudspeaker robots, the acoustic aspects of the space are explored and the propagation of sound waves is permanently transformed.
The 'Trydays' are one-off events that take place on a Friday (for once this edition will take place on Thursday), during the Kunstavond. With the Trydays artists are given an opportunity to try-out a new work, installation or performance.
Heidi Hörsturz deals with the various facets of the moving image and
sound. She works in a wide range of computer animations, audiovisual
performances, soundart and multimedia installations.
Her
works examine the influence of new technologies and the social questions
that have arisen as a result of digital development. With her approach
of art as a medium for exploring social coexistence and as a means of
ending the structural suppression of people, fantasies and visions, she
takes the media overload of stimuli to the absurd.
After
completing her studies at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in the
Netherlands she has presented her work worldwide. She performed in
venues like ICA London, Multimedia Art Museum Moscow and CultureHub NYC.
Her works were shown at FILE Sao Paulo, EMAF, Athens Digital Arts
Festival, EYE Amsterdam, Electro Mechanica festival Saint Petersburg,
IEM Graz among many others.
Currently she is part of Elektramusic label for electroacoustic music and soundart in Strasbourg.
