V2_Community Meetups

The V2_Community Meetup is a chance for our community of artists, makers, hackers and philosophers to share what is going on in their practice in order to get feedback, ideas, and the support to take the next step. It also provides an informal setting to meet up every now and then, share a drink and some good old fashioned ‘gezelligheid’.

Marit Shalem

During this meetup we turn our attention to Marit Shalem, long-time friend of V2_, and founder of SpOp in 2002. In her projects Shalem focuses on facets of recent visual culture, the effect of commerce and human relation in this digital era, examining possibilities of interpretation through fragmenting and combining story lines. Her work consists mainly of experimental video work for which she writes and draws the scripts. This event will be the official launch and first public viewing of her latest work: Alterations.

Alterations

Alterations is a video installation with interactive features that leads the visitor through different layers of location and time. The interaction with the 3 screens creates a non-linear narrative, where the triptych of imagery appears in a way in which no combination is likely to re-appear.
A unique experience for each and every visitor.

21.30 Conversation with Marit Shalem about her work, inspiration, process and perspectives on interactive & non-linear filmmaking. The audience is invited to join, give feedback and ask questions.*

The installation is open to the public from Thursday-Saturday 15.00-23.00
